Ken Dow is an experienced pharmaceutical attorney with more than 40 years of experience whose practice over the years focused on providing business and legal guidance for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, particularly in the areas of intellectual property, licensing, and life sciences legal and regulatory matters. A registered patent attorney and pharmacist, he is recognized for his ability to translate complex scientific inventions into legal strategy, guiding corporations through portfolio development, risk management, and licensing. He also has broad experience in IP due diligence, conducting IP portfolio evaluations, and freedom to operate analyses in connection with corporate transactions. He is highly experienced in negotiation and drafting licensing and collaboration agreements, with a focus on biotechnology and pharmaceutical transactions, as well as patent and contractual litigation matters and post-issuance proceedings in patent cases. His career at law firms and as in-house counsel has traversed the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, from startups to global corporations. Most recently he was general counsel at Century Therapeutics and before that spent 25 years in-house at Johnson and Johnson. At Johnson & Johnson, he led support for both the immunology and oncology research therapeutic areas, contributing to the successful development, launch, and legal defense of many commercial products. His experience is in several technical fields, including immunotherapies, CAR-T, stem cells, antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, vaccines, CRISPR, small molecule therapeutics, formulations, methods of treatment, and the like.
